2. Until tomorrow Team Fortress 2 item drop rate has tripled on Steam. If you have it, you should probably play it.


3. Christmas has temporarily cut connection to EA's servers due to the amount of people getting Bad company 2. Stats can't be updated for probably another week.


4. Still testing Vietnam. It is good so far but you seem to die easier then in BC2 (which I didn't think was possible). Attackers have a stupid amount of advantage over defense it seems. Oh and vehicles have radios again, like BC1. Full review in probably a month.

5. Survival Saturday is New years eve this year. All night, a mix between Bad company 2 and Halo Reach Firefight. Be there for the last clan event this year.

6. Gears 3 will have epic unlocks apparently, and everyone will get them. You'll only understand them if you've played other Epic Games' Games before (I.e. UT3, Shadow Complex Etc.). Smells like Easter Eggs.

7. Bullet Storm "Epic Edition" will come with a Gears 3 beta (because Gears 2 didn't have one obviously). So you'll be spending $70 to essetially get Gears 3 beta since, hint: the game will probably suck ass, but if you are a hardcore Gears fan you might want to check it out. Unfortunatly I won't because I could not care less about Gears of War matchmaking.

News, News, news.

First, we have a new clan member. Everyone say Hi to Reyoleon.

Since we got a new member we are going to have to start having events again. Half of the lack of events was my fault for not planning them, but planning for playing isn't fun. Instead of planning set events (seriously, no clans have challanged us recently. Other clans, we need competition!) we are probably going to have practice matches regularly.

2 free games hit marketplace a few weeks ago. Harm's Way and Crash Course are both free and Harm's way is fun to play. Can't say the same for crash course, but at least it is worth it's price.

Vietnam hit yesterday. In case you need to spend MSP on something this week.

2011 Avatar Glasses are free for a limited time in the avatar marketplace.

December week 2 update

Wow haven't updated this in a while.
Not much has happened since but a few things have, such as the Noble Map pack release.



Anchor 9- Very similar to the Pit from Halo 3, but not too similar. Probably one of Reach's best maps. I'm not sure if I like Countdown or Anchor 9 better actually. Definately going to become a Reach Classic (Think Guardian, or The Pit in Halo 3 style favorite. Yeah, awesome.) The only thing that may be a problem is infection, but not as big a problem as some of the current maps (Sword Base, that is a dig on you.)

Tempest- Reminds me of Infinity for Halo Pc. Like Infinity ate Valhalla. There is a lot of open cover (as much of an Oxymoron that may be) and is well suited for both 4v4 and 8v8. We asked for bigger maps and they delivered. It's an Infantry Big Team style map. It even reminds me of an original Blood Gulch in the vehicle set, One Warthog and Two Mongoosen per team.

Breakpoint- To be fair, I haven't played much Breakpoint where the game wasn't so one sided it felt playable, let alone on Invasion. I'm not impressed by what I've seen so far, and Honestly can't compare it to another map. If I had to I'd say Halo 2's Containment mixed with Halo PC's Icefields. Neither were very good and so far Breakpoint isn't either. Too many Power weapons and always seems to be one team dominating the other. Then again it is ment to be played Invasion.

It's a good map pack, but not a "Must buy". Wait for it to go on sale or something.




And now for something completely different.

Next week GOW2's Snowblind Map pack is on sale for 160MSP ($2USD). If you don't already have it, Spend your money on the All-Fronts Pack instead, because that is still a better deal.



Battlefield Bad company 2 Vietnam (henceforth called BC2:V. I am NOT typing that out every friggin time) Will be available for download December 21st for 1200 MSP ($15 USD) and is an Expansion, not a map pack. It adds new weapons, multiplayer, campaign missions and achievements. I'll review this whe it comes out too.




Survival Saturday Should start up again soon. Me and Phoenix have almost finished Beta testing all the varients. Here's what we got so far:

Siege- To be played on Beachhead, Glacier, or Overlook. You've got 15 lives to share and 3 sets to complete. You get no bonus lives. Custom Skulls allow for unique challenges. a swarm of Skirmishers may seem easy, but how about when they are immune to headshots and damage resistant? This is the gametype that earned the Needle Rifle the title "Rail gun" to me and Phoenix.

Lemmings- More of a fun relaxed game type. 3 sets to see who has the highest score at the end. How doesn't like to punt some Grunts?

Beta Generator Defense- Just like it was in the Beta.

Shad0wclan Versus- Firefight versus tweaked for Shad0wclan rules.

ODST Firefight- As close as possible to the original varient.

ODST versus- The previous two combined. Elites are usually players so watch out.

Halo reach playlist updates.

1. Arena is being revamped. no more armor lock.
2. Mlg gets a playlist.
3. A grab bag list is in the works (Including Firefight Versus)

1. Borderlands level cap is raised. But you already know this.

2. Rockband 3 DLC is incompatible with rockband 1 & 2. All future DLC will be incompatible with previous versions.

3. A few weeks ago, Rockband 2 got the minor artists store thingie. Now tons of cult internet songs like "The Ultimate Showdown" can be downloaded into Rockband.

4. Might be repeating this one, but Gears 2's next double exp weekend is Thanksgiving.

Haloween update

Bad news first. Rynicie727 is being retired from the clan, due to the fact that he moved to start a new life with his girlfriend in Florida or Alabam or something a few months ago. Something he was kind enough to share with me through like a third or fourth source. So, apparently that is why he isn't on. He will be missed, and DAMN IT HE STILL HAS SOME OF MY BORDERLANDS GUNS!

Moving on:

Today is Halloween, which means while playing matchmaking you will see more MIAs then usual, as Children distract your foes whilst you headshot thier unmoving soldier.

Well, the level cap is about to be raised in Reach. 117 million challenges should be done on monday. Level cap increases Tuesday probably.

WU: Campaign, Map packs, 4x Exp, and Claptraps.

Campaign matchmaking for Halo Reach goes live tomorrow, along with a snipers and infection playlist.

The first map pack for Reach has been announced (November 30th, 800 points) which seems a little early for new maps. I mean, couldn't have this have been thrown in on the disk? Anyway, this map pack will never be free because it adds 250 Gamerscore worth of achievements to Reach. So let's divide the population 2 months into Reach, Bungie. Great Idea.

Anyway, the maps included are Anchor 9 (set in the space station of the same name. 2-8 players, designed for FFa, Team slayer and team objective), Tempest (A big team map that doubles as a "Forge me" map. At least have the decency to make it a different habitat for a forge me map the forge world), and Break point a new Invasion map. (What the hell? no Firefight maps? The dance hall in New Alexandria is almost exactly like Crater from Odst. It begs to be Firefighted!)

4x Exp. Gears 2 is having a 4x Exp event until the 28th. Then, until the 31st, it is having 31x Exp. This will probably be the last Gears 2 event the clan will do. unless they do a 60x Exp event...

The new Borderlands DLC is out. It's currently bugged though so we'll let you know when it is good.

In Halo 3, 7 on the 7th is now a monthly list that resets every month.

Oh, and Gears of War 3 will have dedicated servers. Boo-Yah. No Host bonuses.

Halo Reach playlist update going live on Tuesday.

Several Matchmaking changes are going up next Tuesday. Here is what it consists of:

Team Slayer
SWAT is Being removed.
Recorded voting behaviors are adapting the playlist (if it is voted for often it appears more often)
Traditional Slayer's weighting is increased greatly.

Team SWAT
Swat playlist introduced.
Swat removed from all other lists.
Swat on Hemmorrage gone.

Team Objective
Powerhouse is getting 1 flag and stockpile.

Multi Team
Rocket Race is added

Big Team Battle
SWAT and BTB Classic are removed.
Snipers has a reduced weighting.

Arena Doubles
Boardwalk Removed.
Slayer Pro varients removed.
Default Zealot is being replaced with Arena Zealot (has different start spawns and soft kill barrier in space..

Team Arena
Same as Arena Doubles, except Boardwalk is NOT being removed.

Score Attack
Credit earn rates for Gruntpocalypse are being reduced to fall more in line with other modes.

General Matchmaking
Various Tweaks and Bugs are being fixed.

Well I'm back and within a week the new l4d 1 & 2 expansions come out. A new campaign called The Sacrifice will be available for both games along with No mercy L4d2 stylized for L4d2.



So several changes are already being made to Reach Matchmaking as everyon has made Bungie VERY much aware. (And yet a topic on the Reach Forums still disappears within 30 seconds of creation).

Oh, and Gears of war 3 has been delayed to November of 2011. They Have said they COULD get it done by April 2011, But would rather polish it up and release it in the holiday season.

Azur3 Drag0n has left for more military training, but sum punjab has returned.

B is now swap grenades, RB is melee, X is reload and LB is equipment.

A few things this week.

1. Happy labor day weekend! Clan events will probably not be on this week, and if they are, I probably won't be going, so yeah.

2. As you have heard, Xbox Live has announced a price increase starting November 1st. This has led to mass breakdowns of several xbox boards. So to avoid further explosions, I am here to say CHILL OUT PEOPLE! $10 more for a year really isn't that much. That is 1 hour of working at a job. You can find $10 if you look hard enough. Hell, it still is a good deal, and who really didn't see this coming? If it bothers you so much, either stock up on 1 years now, or leave. And we all know that won't happen.

3. Borderlands GOTY edition is coming out Next month! For $60, you get the game, the first 3 DLC packs, The Claptrap Army DLC (coming soon), and a fifth (FIFTH!) exclusive DLC pack. If you haven't recieved Borderlands yet, wait for this release. You will save $25.

4. After waiting 12 years Starcraft 2 finally released this year. Earlier today, another delayed-for-forever game was announced. I am talking about Duke Nukem Forever. Yes I know what you are saying, "Matt! But if they announced that multiple times over the decade!" I know. Yet they had a PLAYABLE full version at PAX. This might finally release only to be torn limb from limb by reviewers if it isn't the second coming of Jesus in Sunglasses with a bigass gun and a hot chick. Still, News is news.

5. Halo 3 Double Exp isn't up yet, so wait a little longer. It should be up by tonight.

6. Mass effect 2 is now $30. I think I'll wait for a GOTY edition though...

7. September 7th, the new Mass Effect 2 DLC will arrive. Liara returns. Shadow Broker is going down. 800 points. Must buy for any Mass Effect fan.

8. Battlefield Bad Company 2: Ultimate Edition is now out. It includes Onslaught mode, Vip Mode, All the Limited edition early unlocks, all the battlefield 1943 unlocks (Mp-443 and the Thompson 1941) for NO Extra Money! $60. Get it if you haven't gotten it.

9. October 5th, the new Left 4 Dead DLC, The Sacrifice, releases and it is compatible with both games. For Left 4 dead 1, you get a new campaign to find out what happens leading up to the events in The Passing. In Left 4 Dead 2, You get the same campaign but with the Left 4 Dead 2 extras. "But Matt, I hated the Left 4 Dead 2 characters. I don't want to play them!" Well, that is the awesome part. You play as the ORIGINAL SURVIVORS. With The Left 4 dead 2 new weapons and Zombies. "That's awesome!" Wait a minute little Timmy, What if I told you that it gets more awesome? Well Left 4 Dead 2 owners also get to pick up the No Mercy Campaign too! And you are still playing as the original survivors! And you get access to Mutations! Price yet to be announced, but I doubt it'll be the $7 L4D dlc normally is, as it seems like 3 Dlcs in one.

Note: DLC list will be changing soon. Halo 3 events will require only Heroic maps and Cold Storage after Reach releases. Obviously, sequels are coming out so we will be doing little Halo 3 and GOW2 events when the new ones release. GOW2 events will still require the all-fronts pack though.

When the new Borderlands DLC hits, expect us to go back to Pandora, and not the one with giant smurfs.

Note: that there is an Automatic 4 point achievement on this one, so those with messed up gamerscore can fix it. Those who don't wish to scrrew up thier gamerscore, there is an easy 6 point achievement to fix it.

Also, you must download 20 songs, including 1 queen song to 100% this game. Anyone with Rockband or Rockband 2 should already have 20 downloaded songs, and if not there are ways to do this (Rockband 2 has bonus download tracks for free if you register the game. 20 of them in fact that can be played on any non-band specific rockband game.)

Weekly update: halo 3's last hurrah

1. I'm moving the update to Thursday. Friday isn't working to well.

2. We have a facebook group now. Join it or die. Jump.

3. Halo Reach is coming which means Halo 3 is going. The next few weeks are going to be Halo oriented. Expect Deja Vu, Annual, Endure and maybe some campaighn runs with twists in the next few weeks.

4. Halo 3 files have been updated. on bungie.net simply look for files tagged "Shad0wclan" or "Shad0w clan" (caps not needed) and don't forget to tag your favorite gametypes/screenshots/maps you want to share with the clan. We need community participation for the clan, so that means the clan must participate as a community.

5. Survival Saturdays have been pathetically low in participation count. Please participate people!

6. MC Johnny3 has Live again.

7. Currently we have very little active members. 5 1/2 to be precise.

8. Ertgert is again on MIA status. Until Further notice, I am second in command.

9. Azur3 Drag0n is back.

10. We are having a community Clan meeting tonight. In fact, Every week we shall have a meeting from here on out. The Blog isn't working very well.

Bungie finally acknowledges Halo CE pc/mac users

If you didn't pirate your game for the computer and bought the pc version of Halo 1 before May 2010, I hope you kept your CD KEY. Much like Halo 2's final special players, all legit Halo PC players will be getting something in Reach. An Armor effect to be exact. In a few weeks, instructions will be given, and I will relay those instructions here. Finally, Bungie acknowledges it's PC crowd after 6 years.

weekly update x20

play Gears of War 2 this weekend. seriously its 20x EXP.

Well the introduced 2 new things in Halo reach yesterday. Forge world (sandbox, x20) and Versus Firefight. Learn more on Bungie.net

Also The reach Preview announcements are stopping this week. Mainly because I don't want spoilers for campaign. If you do however, read the bungie.net Weekly updates.

Mass Effect 2 hit $40 USD. You should pick it up if you have spare cash.

3 days for Starcraft 2 and Blazblue 2 to release. Unfortunately it will be probably 3 years till my pc is upped enough for starcraft 2.

A free steam game went up a week ago. I'm going to download it after writing this.

And lastly, 20x Exp. In Gears 2. Thats 3,000 points for one wave in horde on normal. That means in 3 waves, you get the equivalent of over 50 waves of exp. Oh and the first 9 waves are exclusive to boomer varients. the 10th is sires and bloodmounts. Conserve your ammo. You tend to run out quickly, since the only weapons dropped are Boomshots (with only 1 shot in them), Shields, turrets, and every 10 waves, hammerbursts.

As we all know, this weekend has Gears of War 2 written all over it due to the 20x experience. But there's no reason to play alone. I will be hosting horde and public matches throughout tonight and tomorrow in celebration of this event and my renewal of Live for another year. If you need any Horde based achievements, Let's get them DONE!!! I will help anybody who needs horde based achievements. I can't think of any better way to spend a weekend than with fountains of blood and giant underground monsters wielding rocket launchers, miniguns, and exploding maces on chains! Waves ten, twenty, thirty, forty, and fifty will have surprise appearances. GET YOUR GRENADES, REV YOUR CHAINSAWS AND LETS LEAVE HORDE A BLOODY WASTELAND!

20 times Exp? SHUT. DOWN. EVERYTHING.

For one weekend only (july 23rd-25th) Gears of War 2 is having a 20x Exp Weekend. that's right. TWENTY. One Horde wave on casual will net you 2000 EXP.

In other news, Legendary map pack is getting reduced to 160 MSP next week. That is $2. Mythic Map pack 1 is being reduced to 400 MSP, or $5. Permanently.

Next week's DOTW is Assassin's creed 2 DLC and Avatar Items.

Rumors of dlc 4 for Borderlands have begun to pop up. Expect it to drop in late August.

Also Microsoft has cancelled 1 vs 100. So, can I please delete games off my gamerscore now MS?

This weekend, Since everyone seems to have left on vacation in a simutanious plot to leave me out of the fun, Is a free weekend. (Yes I know we had a lot of these recently, but next week I promise will be different)

Bungie is going to stop updating Halo 3. They will start collapsing playlists that aren't played as much, so play what you love now, or lose it. Also double exp weekends will stop September 13th. No new playlists will be added from here on, and MLG FFA has been removed. Link

Good News Everyone!

I have developed a device that forces you to read this update in my voice!

Well, the Bad Company 2 Co-op Mode released yesterday for 800 MSP. For celebration, this weekend we shall play Bad Company 2 multiplayer.

I'm not sure what the Left 4 Dead 2 Mutation is this week since I haven't played it in forever. Find out for yourself.

Anyway, I'm afraid I have terrible news. It took a few years but hackers have finally found away to crack Halo 3's coding. Not two hours ago, an FB Jester logged into Live and managed to implement a hack which gives him 100% auto aim with headshot and Invincibility into matchmaking. Be wary if you search 50 high. Even if he gets banned, this proves that this kind of hack is possible, and we'll see it more in the future, unfortunatly.

Shut up, I know I said Monday and it's tuesday.

Lots of things were announced at E3, very little that were of interest of non-motion gamers. My 5 favorites were:

5. Assassin's Creed 3's Co-op mode

4. Firefight in Halo Reach Being customizable (think Halo 3's Custom games options. Double that and attach it to Firefight)

3. Kevin Butler's Speech during the Sony press conference.

1. Gears of War 3's Beast mode (Horde where you play as locust. And not just the grubs.)


HM: Nintendo remembering that they make games, not work-out simulators.

5. Assassin's Creed 3 Multiplayer versus. (Bioshock couldn't pull it off, I doubt Creed will either.)

4. Portal 2 getting delayed till 2010

2. The new Xbox 360. It looks like a PS3 ate a Wii. Plus it will be hell to transfer files if you got an old one first. And 250 GB HDD?! Thats like saying Fuck You to everyone who got an original xbox 360. You know, the ones who spent $350 for a model with a "20GB" HDD which only could use 12GB max. If it is available in white it would look better.

As most people know, next week is E3. The holiest week to the gamer. As such Big things are going down. But first this weekend.

This Weekend's Survival Saturday is Left 4 Dead 2.

Anyway, this Saturday at 8pm Pst we are having a L4D2 get together thing. Be there. No exceptions. Either join Golakersgo or xSCx Flow's games to participate. They worked hard to set this up. Don't disappoint them, as this is the first clan event set up by someone not me or Josh.



Hope you all had fun in the beta.

Also, since everyone else has moved on by now, we are pretty much abandoning Halo 3 now. We still will play it occasionally, just not very often. Consider Borderlands, Bad Company 2, and Left for Dead 2 as our main games now (with GOW2 splashed in occasionally).

Again, Any problems you noticed with the Halo:Reach beta, tell them to me and i'll report them.

I honestly am Starting to think about dropping the members who don't go on ever anymore (namely lilKILLTACULAR). However We would need a 2/3 active member approval for this. We'll discuss this more at the next clan meeting, which will probably be on this Saturday.

Also noticing my trend of posting on fridays, I think Fridays will be the official update day.

Anyway, The Passing recently released and with it you get to access mutations in L4D2. Realism Versus today just got a permanent list up. The mutation this week is either Bleed out, Last gnome on Earth, or Follow the Liter. I haven't checked yet but I hope it is Bleed Out.

Update 4/17/10

Sorry for no update last week, Lots of thinks going on.

1. Halo 2 went down permanently on Thursday. We will miss you, Halo 2.

2. We need more activity from clan members dammit! Only 3 people participated in Halo 2's farewell.

3. I changed my gamertag from ultratog1028 to SC Penumbra.

In other news, Next week, Borderland's Zombie Island is only 400 MSP or $5. Crash Course still is reduced to $4 or 320 MSP. If you didn't get it this week, there still is time.

Next Week, L4d2 recieves The Passing DLC. No word on when it releases for L4D 1 or even if it will release on L4d 1 for consoles.

The next MTG: DotP expansion should hit any day now. ANY DAY. expect it within 2 weeks.

It's Team Throwback for double exp in Halo 3 this weekend. Go out and capture yourself a flag.

Tuesday Weekly Update

First the bad news.

1. Ertgert just got the Unspeakable Thing. His Xbox lived a long and full life.

2. Team Throwback is no longer a Halo 3 playlist. It is now a Double Exp ranked playlist, presumably replacing the gap 3 Ball and Team Flag left in the Double Exp playlists. Good news is you will be able to rank up twice as fast.

3. Halo 2 has less then 2 weeks remaining. Next Wednesday is it's last night.

Now the other news:

1. Survival Saturday this weekend is Halo 2 multiplayer. It's a lot harder then Halo 3 multiplayer, but dammit it needs a send off it deserves.

2. This week the first two Borderlands DLC packs release on an expansion disk priced at $15-$20.

3. L4D 1's CRASH COURSE is being reduced next week to 320 MSP ($4). Pick it up!

4. Today's Auto update allows all FAT32 formatted USB memory drives that are less then 16gb to save your Xbox games. So that should help if you are running low on Hard drive space. (However I don't know a single person who still has a USB drive under 16 GB who doesn't use an external harddrive or USB drive that is bigger.)

5. The upcoming Halo 3 Double exp weekends are:

In other news, next weekend there is no Survival Saturday, due to the Easter Holiday, but it may be double exp in Gears 2 due to the holiday. If so, most of the clan will probably be there.

Gearsofwar.com finally has added online stats. You should so go check those out. (And on another note, if you only play horde, expect to have a low win-loss ratio. Everytime you restart a wave you lose, and you can only win by completing all 50 waves.)

Rumors are spreading around that the Halo Reach Beta might have clan support. I hope this is true because this is exactly what the clan needs for a revival.

Also, no, we will not be a Modern Warfare 2 clan. At least not any of the current leaders wish to support it, as we all hate COD Multiplayer. If enough people want it though we MAY think about making a sub-clan for this. We also MAY give up Xbox and move to PS3. Neither are very likely.

Finally, plans are underhead for a rebirth and possibly rename of the clan.

Also we are doing a Vidmaster Hunt next Saturday at 19:00 PST (7:00 pm). Anyone who still needs Endure or Deja Vu come on and send either me or Phoenix4fire a message over Live. Deja vu will be first.
